The First HTML Tutorial: Introduction to HTML

Welcome to the site. This site teaches you how to create a website. Web design is not that hard and can be learned fairly quickly. You don't need any special software to learn web design. In fact, you already have everything you need: a computer, a web browser, and a text editor such as Notepad.

So how do websites work? First, the server, or web host, sends your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox) the HTML. Then the browser takes it and parses the code. This means that it takes the code and translates it into pictures, text, and other objects. It then displays these objects in the places specified by the code. It may sound complicated, but don't worry, it gets easier as you learn.
